Top 5 Travel movies that has inspired me

Remember when you saw some movie and you felt the pang that I wish I could visit all these places. Some movies take you to the places where you always wanted to go and give you major travel goals. So friends here are some of my favourite travel movies :-
1.      Eat pray love – she travels Europe, India and Indonesia alone and finally found the love of her life <3.

2.      Wild – when everything is going wrong in her life, she decides to just pack her bag and go for long trekking and with lot of hardships on her way she finally finishes what she started.
This movie gave me major trekking goals.

3.      The bucket list – age and disease never comes in your way when you want to explore the beauty of the world. Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson proves that in this movie.

4.      Zindagi na milegi dobara – this is our very own Indian movie which has given us major travel goals and things to do before you get married :P

5.      Motorcycle diaries – why flight, bus or train? When you can take road trip on your motorcycle. That’s what was done by Che Guevara as youngster at the age of 23.

So friends these are my favourite movies.
Please comment what are your favourite travel movies

How to explore Udaipur in one day

Impromptu trip it was, as I like. It happened when I missed my connecting flight from Bombay to jodhpur. When I went to Bombay I was informed that we will be sent to Udaipur instead and then a bus to jodhpur.
I was not very irritated, as a wanderlust I am, was kind of very excited to see Udaipur.
So I decided to not to board the bus to jodhpur instead go to my cousin’s place.
Next morning we decided to cover as much as places as we can in udaipur. We took my cousin’s friend's bike.
First we went to ambrai. It’s a point where you can see the lake palace and just sit and chill with your friends. It was calm and pretty. There is a very pretty restaurant also at ambrai – Abmrai restro, 1700 for two (approx)

Our next stop was Gangaur Ghat, where shooting of Ram leela happened. This place is a ghat where you can sit and watch the lake plus it is a very photogenic place. You can click amazing pics of havelis, and there is a guy who plays very nice sarangi and lets you play (but asks for 51 rupees). You can buy small small monuments which a lady sells.

Next we went to jagdish mandir which has like straight stairs and architecture is something you should go to watch.

From there CITY PALACE is near by. The ticket is 250 bucks if you are students like me then just show your Student ID and  you will be ready to go for just 100 bucks. City palace is really big, you can take personal guide or audio guide if you want. It took us 2 and half an hour to see the whole palace. When I finished my tour, downstairs there were decorations of Neil Nitin Mukesh’s cocktail party. Lol at least got to see the decorations if not the wedding.

After roaming since morning obviously tummy wanted some food, so we stopped by lake haveli and had proper lunch – mix veg, jeera rice and daal. It is a lake havelli restaurant so loved it and also not very expensive (600 for two approx.)

After lunch went to see lake pichola and sat there for a while, there you can do some boating if you want. But localites were just sitting and chilling with their family and kids.
From there nearby you can go to Karni Mata temple. So there are two ways- by stairs (soo many) or by rope-way for that you have to pay 97/- (not fix they keep increasing). On rope-way you can get the top view of Udaipur.
After that we went to some nearby garden and just rested there as we were pretty tired and were seeing people getting dressed in authentic attire and getting pictures clicked.
Finally I wanted to see sunset at fatehsagar, so we came at our final point at 5 at fatehsagar. As suggested by my cousins, there you get the best coffee and they were right. I had coffee at shiv sagar coffee center, there are lot of places though you can ask for this place. So for the first time I had coffee in kulhad with some amazing cream on top in the best winter weather. It was BEST (just for 30/-). We just sat there and watched the beautiful sunset of my life.

That was the end of day at city of lakes/venice of east. next day in the morning I went to jodhpur (5 hours from udaipur). Though I missed sajjangarh palace and neemach mandir, but as it is said you cannot see everything in a day, may be next time.
